As a result of the International Medical Humanitarian Mission in the Republic of Sierra Leone, held from December 6 to December 26, 2025, 716 patients received medical care. This included medical consultations, outpatient and diagnostic services, pregnancy and childbirth care, neonatal care, dental and oncological treatment, and resuscitation procedures.
During the mission, 33 surgical procedures were performed, including oncological and gynecological surgeries, cesarean sections, uterine vacuum aspiration, operative vaginal deliveries, and other medical procedures aimed at saving lives and improving patients’ health.
Special attention was given to strengthening the professional knowledge and skills of healthcare workers in Sierra Leone. Through lectures and hands-on training sessions focused on developing practical clinical skills, 220 healthcare professionals received training.
The mission was carried out with the support of the World Volunteers program, the Ambassador of the Republic of Sierra Leone to Moscow, Mr. Mohamed Yongawo, and the Government of the Republic of Sierra Leone.
The mission made a significant contribution to improving the quality of medical care and strengthening friendly relations between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Sierra Leone.
